Voorhoede is situated 5km east of Caledon on the N2 and a 120km from
Cape Town. The farm is signposted on the right hand side of the N2.
Turn right and continue up the gravel road to reception.
The farm, which also forms part of the Klein Swartberg Conservancy
is managed mainly for sheep farming with tourism contributing to the
daily activities. Outdoor activities on the farm include trout fishing,
carp fishing, 4x4 trails, mountain biking, hiking, abseiling,
waterskiing, birdwatching and wildflowers.
Voorhoede offers accommodation with self-catering cottages, a parkhome
and ample camping facilities. Cottages are all situated away from the
main working farm and are very private. No electricity is available
in 2 of the cottages but gas facilities are provided i.e. Geyser, fridge
and stoves. There are two campsites, one at the 'Carp-and ski dam' and
one in the 'Akkerbos', both with hot shower and flush toilets.

- Booking
is essential.
- No
pets or fireworks allowed.
- Toilet
paper, matches, candles and oil lamps are provided in cottages.
- There
is cell phone reception.
- Braaiwood
is for sale at the office and can be arranged prior to arrival. Please
do not take firewood from the veld. Firelighters are not provided.
- No open fires are allowed. Fires are only allowed at designated braai areas and please remember: a fire should have a friend.
- Settle
fee at the office on collection of the key.
- Shops
are 5km away in town.
- Disclaimer

kind whatsoever for any damages to you, your party or any of your
equipment.
- Gas
appliances will be in working order upon arrival. Under no circumstances
are these to be tampered with. Contact
the office 083 273 8356 in case of a problem.
- No littering
please. Do not bury your litter. Dirt bins have been placed in all
areas.
- When
fishing, ensure that no line or hooks are left behind.
- No bedding
or furniture to be used outside the cottages.
- No flowers,
plants or animals may be removed.
- Please
do not throw strange objects in toilets.
- No 'velties'
allowed! Use ablution facilities. (Or in case of emergency please
use a spade.)
